MISERY INDEX releases first new single in four years, 'Feral Future'

MISERY INDEX, the Baltimore death metal veterans, have released their new single “Feral Future”, accompanied by an official lyric video. It is the band’s first new music in four years, arriving on the heels of their return to Season Of Mist and ahead of their headline “An Epitaph for Endtimes” European summer 2026 tour.

MISERY INDEX vocalist and bassist Jason Netherton states: “‘Feral Future’ is about changing the way we think about our relationship with nature. Nature isn’t something we rule over or exist outside of. It’s something we are immersed in everywhere all the time. This song champions the rewilding of damaged and corrupted human spaces and reclaims a more feral connection that respects the sublime wonder of nature.”
“Feral Future” was one of the very first songs written for MISERY INDEX‘s upcoming eighth full-length, and its untamed energy helped shape the album’s thematic core.
“Feral Future” was mixed by Ricardo Borges and mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios. Artwork is by Samuele Puligheddu, with photography by Ryan Phillips. The lyric video for “Feral Future” was created by Cloud Motion Design.
Now, as MISERY INDEX prepares to release new music from its upcoming eighth full-length album, the band is excited to announce that it is returning to Season Of Mist ahead of MISERY INDEX‘s upcoming European headline summer tour, which includes appearances at Wacken Open Air, Summer Breeze and other major festivals.

MISERY INDEX started as a studio project in 2001. Vocalist and bassist Jason Netherton (ex-DYING FETUS) joined guitarist Mike Harrison and drummer Kevin Talley (ex-DYING FETUS) to record their debut EP, “Overthrow”. The considerable praise heaped upon this five-song death/grind attack led MISERY INDEX to become a full-time band with the addition of guitarist Sparky Voyles (ex-DYING FETUS).
MISERY INDEX previously released “Live In Munich” (2013),“The Killing Gods” (2014) and “Rituals Of Power” (2019) with Season Of Mist.
In 2022 the band released ‘Complete Control’ under Century Media.
The band will release new music ahead of their upcoming “An Epitaph For Endtimes” summer 2026 European tour.
