Drummer Michiel van der Plicht quits CARACH ANGREN

Drummer Michiel van der Plicht has left Dutch theatrical symphonic black metal band CARACH ANGREN. He left the band, of which he was part since 2020 as a live drummer, because of too little influence he could have as a member of the band. Van der Plicht will now fully focus on PESTILENCE. He previously was the drummer in GOD DETHRONED, TOXOCARA and DETONATION.

“I have decided to end my collaboration with Carach Angren.

What made me eager to be the live drummer of CA in the first place was that they are a tight nit family creating music that fits me very well and I saw a lot of potential here.

It has become apparent that this family is so tight nit, that I could never become a part of it and so the energy invested wouldn’t be used in the way I would like to see it.

To be able to fully invest myself in the creative process and live performances, I need to be part of the band. You can’t be fully committed to something you’re not part of. The circumstances provided simply did not allow me to preform at the level that I want and need and so I have decided to move on and focus on my other bands and musical endeavors.

I had a great time for the short run we had, I wish them all the best and thanks to CA, the fans, crew and bands we shared stages with. “
