Ever since SLIPKNOT unceremoniously kicked drummer Jay Weinberg to the curb earlier this month, fans all over the world have been rabidly trying to figure out who will end up holding down things behind the kit moving forward. Some names have cropped up among the fanbase, but one that’s dropped a great number of hints himself, has been shot down by Corey Taylor himself. And without calling his name, it is widely considered that Taylor talks about former VENOM INC drummer Jeramie Kling, who openly seeks a new job as a drummer.  

It turns out that according to Taylor, Jeramie Kling simply “ain’t the guy”. Fans began believing that he was to be Weinberg’s replacement after he announced his departure from Venom Inc. by tweeting a dodgy statement that simply said “drumming is a matter of timing. Bring it to you. Invite the chaos” along with a Slipknot logo.That post got deleted super fast, but the internet never forgets and Slipknot fans everywhere then assumed Kling was the guy. Now Taylor’s out here putting cold water on the fan base’s theory by tweeting a pretty terse and clear statement on the matter. 

“To everyone wondering about our new drummer… It’s not him. Stop letting him troll you. He’s not even on the list. #hesnot666“ 

Kling posted a message on his social media that he had stepped out of VENOM INC, earlier this month. In his farewell note, he thanked all the fans who opened up for him and he talked about the places he had never been before the adventure. He however never mentioned his former band mates, singer Tony “Demolition Man” Dolan and guitarist Jeffrey “Mantas” Dunn in his message. He also stated immediately, that he was looking for a new job as a drummer. 

Kling was the drummer in VENOM INC after the silent departure of drummer Anthony “Abaddon”Bray, who never returned from paternity leave, without disclosing a definitive reason for his exit. Kling sat out two shows in 2022, at  which legendary British drummer Nick Barker (Cradle Of Filth, Dimmu Borgir, Brujeria) took over to play the album ‘Black Metal’ in its entirety with them.
