KISS and DIXXON FLANNEL CO. join forces to celebrate 50 years of 'Destroyer'

31-08-2026

Dixxon Flannel Co., in collaboration with legendary rock band KISS, is celebrating 50 years of “Destroyer” with a limited-edition flannel and hoodie inspired by the album. The album’s purple and gold cover art are reworked over a black underlay in the plaid of the flannel. “Destroyer”‘s album art is featured on the sticker tag, and KISS‘s unmistakable black logo is displayed on the pocket and buttons, as well as the inner lens cloth in classic Dixxon style. The hoodie remasters the classic album art, reading Dixxon above the band.

“Destroyer”KISS‘s fourth studio album, was the band’s third straight Top 40 album in the U.S. It outperformed the previous three, reaching certified gold in the month following its release. “Destroyer” produced classics such as “Detroit Rock City”“Beth” and “Shout It Out Loud”, and helped propel the band that fused heavy metal with theatrical stadium shows, reshaping rock performance forever. Their legacy continues to inspire Dixxon Flannel Co. to play by their own rules, think outside the box, and be unapologetically themselves.

The “Destroyer” flannel and hoodie is available one-time in a super-limited quantity on August 28 at 10 a.m. PT and is expected to sell out. The flannel comes in men’s and women’s sizes for $59.99, and youth for $29.99.

For the recording of “Destroyer”Bob Ezrin was brought in as KISS‘s new producer, helping the band reach new levels, both sonically and creatively. The album also showed the band’s growth as musicians and songwriters, experimenting with new sounds which came in the form of the softer side of songs like “Do You Love Me?” , and songs heavy with orchestral arrangements including “Great Expectations” and their Billboard No. 7 hit single “Beth”. Following the breakthrough success of 1975’s No. 9 Billboard-charting “Alive!”“Destroyer” was the KISS album that brought them to the forefront of the mainstream and transformed them into global rock icons.

To this day, “Destroyer” remains one of the group’s most ambitious recordings and greatest accomplishments. In both Kerrang! and Guitar World magazine it is listed as one of the “100 Greatest Heavy Metal Albums Of All Time” and in 2003, it was included on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the “500 Greatest Albums Of All Time.”

The first details of the 2026 edition of the “KISS Kruise: Landlocked In Vegas” will be officially announced later this month.

The legendary rockers kicked off the 2025 edition of the “KISS Kruise: Landlocked In Vegas” with an outdoor unplugged performance on November 14, 2025 at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. At the beginning of the concert, Stanley asked fans in the audience to lift the electric candles which were handed out to everyone prior to the gig in honor of founding KISS guitarist Ace Frehley, who died in October 2025 at the age of 74. StanleyGene SimmonsEric Singer and Tommy Thayer also played an electric “unmasked” show the same weekend, marking the first time KISS had performed together since retiring from touring in December 2023.

Simmons told Rolling Stone in a November 2023 interview that the second Madison Square Garden “End Of The Road” concert would mark “the final KISS-in-makeup appearance.”

Ace co-founded KISS with PaulGene and Peter Criss in New York City in 1973. Frehley appeared on KISS‘s first nine albums, and returned for the band’s 1998 reunion album, “Psycho Circus”, only to leave again. He was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame with the rest of KISS‘s original lineup in 2014.

Frehley first left KISS in 1982. He rejoined in 1996 and parted ways with the band once again in 2002 after the conclusion of KISS‘s first “farewell tour.” Since his departure, guitarist Tommy Thayer had assumed the role of the Spaceman.
