In an interview with The Adventures Of Pipeman conducted at this month’s Wacken Open Air festival in Wacken, Germany, guitarist Filippa Nässil and vocalist Linnéa Vikström Egg of Swedish rock and rollers THUNDERMOTHER revealed that their new album will be titled “Mothers Of Thunder” and will be released in February 2027. The LP’s first single, “Bimbo Boost”, will be made available in September 2026.
“We’re so looking forward to having this album out, because it’s gonna be fucking killer,” Linnéa said.
Regarding the lyrical inspiration for “Bimbo Boost”, Linnéa said: “It’s got multiple layers to it. (Laughs) I’m blonde and I bought my hair for very much money, so (laughs) I’m a bit of a bimbo myself. I’m a blonde Swedish girl. Obviously, I’m a bimbo.”
Filippa added: “A guitar player has a boost button on stage to make the solo louder. We wanna have a little pedal to just, when you step on it, we have makeup on.”
In 2025, THUNDERMOTHER released its sixth album “Dirty & Divine”, which hit the Top 2 on the official German rock/metal chart. Following that first release with the new lineup consisting of Nässil, Vikström Egg, returning bass player Majsan Lindberg, and drummer Joan Massing, was a European headline tour, during which “Live’N’Alive” was recorded.
