HIGH PARASITE, featuring ex-MY DYING BRIDE singer AARON STAINTHORPE, releases new single 'The Screams That Come'

HIGH PARASITE, the U.K. “death pop” outfit led by former MY DYING BRIDE and current TOWARDS THE SINISTER frontman Aaron Stainthorpe, has released a new standalone single, “The Screams That Come”, out now via Spinefarm alongside a visualizer.
Watch “The Screams That Come” below.
Produced by PARADISE LOST‘s Gregor Mackintosh and mixed by Lawrence Mackrory (MESHUGGAH, KATATONIA), the track aligns with HIGH PARASITE‘s mainstage performance at London Metalfest 2026. The band will appear at the Electric Ballroom in Camden on a bill headlined by Swedish doom legends CANDLEMASS. HIGH PARASITE will also visit Raven Records in Camden, a short walk from the Ballroom, for a signing session at 7:30 p.m.
Stainthorpe comments: “We’ve coined the term ‘death pop’ to define our music; we definitely have a strong affinity with all things gothic and dark, but at the same time we’re collectively drawn to strong hooks and melodies, to choruses that stick in the mind. I guess we walk a shadowy, sometimes twisted path between those two worlds; you can hear it on ‘The Screams That Come’ and even more on the second album. It’s like the vampire’s smile: seemingly welcoming, at least at a distance, but boy, those teeth are razor sharp!”

HIGH PARASITE bassist/vocalist Danny “Tombs” Lambert explains: “We all loved this song when we recorded it for our first album, but it was a little different to the other tracks, with more of a RAMMSTEIN kind of vibe. So we decided to hold it back… until this moment. We’ve already started recording our second studio album. We’re looking to the future, so now ‘Drag Me Under’ makes perfect sense, a glimpse into what’s to come.”
HIGH PARASITE released its debut album, “Forever We Burn“, in September 2024 via Candlelight/Spinefarm.
“Forever We Burn” was produced by Gregor Mackintosh of PARADISE LOST. The LP — with Stainthorpe and Lambert at the helm — blended metal, gothic rock, and dark synth-pop into a powerful and emotionally raw sound.
Last October, MY DYING BRIDE officially parted ways with Stainthorpe. The news came less than a year after MY DYING BRIDE recruited singer Mikko Kotamäki (SWALLOW THE SUN) to front the band for its live appearances in 2025.
