DEAN GUITARS response to jury verdict in GIBSON trial

24-03-2025

TAMPA, FL – DEAN GUITARS have reacted to the jury verdict in their long-running GIBSON trial. The company, founded in 1976 by Dean Zelisnky, is currently run by Armadillo Enterprises and has been subject of numerous copyright infringment affairs with Gibson Guitars. This time the headstock of Lunar Guitars and the Gibson Dovewing were at stake.

In an official statement, the American guitar company says:

Today’s decision in our trial with Gibson is a complex jury verdict. We are reviewing all of our options. We are pleased that the jury found that our Evolution headstock does not infringe on the Gibson Dovewing headstock and that the ES 335 body shape is generic. With the award of just one dollar in damages it is clear that lawsuits like this in the guitar industry are just not worth the time and expense- and we hope that in moving forward parties will be able to work out their differences in more efficient manner.

Dean Guitars is a musician-run enterprise, having worked with some of the biggest names in the industry on the biggest stages and in the best studios all over the world.
