PARKWAY DRIVE has announced the global theatrical release date for the highly anticipated upcoming feature documentary “Parkway Drive: Home”.

The landmark film will be released in select cinemas across Australia on Thursday, November 12, before it’s unleashed in theatres in North America on November 18 via Evan Saxon Productions (ESP) which has recently theatrically released films from Jack Johnson (“Surfilmusic”),Billy Idol (“Billy Idold Should Be Dead”),Linda Perry (“Let It Die Here”),Latin artist FEID, and a documentary about Jimmy Buffett.

“It’s been a tremendous pleasure partnering with PARKWAY DRIVE and the filmmakers at Hype Republic to bring this incredible film to audiences across North America,” Saxon commented. “ESP has established itself as a trusted partner for major artists looking to extend their reach beyond the stage and create meaningful connections with fans on the big screen and in cinemas around the world.”

“Parkway Drive: Home” follows the band’s meteoric rise from metal underdogs to a global behemoth, culminating in the group’s most ambitious live show to date.

In a radical departure from the chaos and energy of heavy music, the band set out to stage a one-night-only performance at a sold-out Sydney Opera House, reimagining their music with special guests and a full symphony orchestra in a formal black-tie setting.

For a genre built on sweat-soaked mosh pits and raw aggression, the idea borders on sacrilege. If it fails, it could jeopardize a reputation forged over twenty relentless years.

Captured on an epic scale, “Parkway Drive: Home” immerses audiences in what is the band’s most visually stunning and technically challenging performance of their career.

“Parkway Drive: Home” is directed by Allan Hardy (“Viva The Underdogs”) and Macario De Souza (“Bra Boys”). It is produced by Hype Republic and distributed by Mushroom Studios.

McCall told Rolling Stone Australia that recording the concert was a key factor in booking the iconic venue.

“We wanted to build something which was a reconceptualization of what PARKWAY DRIVE is in a place that’s very iconically Australian and create a very iconically Australian show,” he said. “It was all seated, black tie, played on grass with a full symphonic orchestra backing, a flipped-up set list from what you’re used to, [and] everyone is in ball gowns and suits. It was the exact opposite of what you’d expect. And that was kind of what we wanted to do. We wanted to make something worthy of the moment.”

He continued: “It was literally the loudest show that the Opera House has ever had before… You’re confined to seats. There’s no crowd surfers, there’s no barrier.”

The resulting live album, “Home – Live At The Sydney Opera House”, will be released on December 4 via Epitaph. The first taste of the highly anticipated effort, a stunning rendition of “Prey”, is available below. The soundtrack immerses audiences in the band’s most technically challenging performance of their career, with the five self-taught PARKWAY musicians playing alongside some of the world’s most accomplished orchestral performers. The album features Nooky, who guests on “Shadow Boxing”, as well as former TONIGHT ALIVE frontwoman Jenna McDougall, who appears on “A Deathless Song”. The record opens with “Welcome To Country”, featuring Matthew Doyle.
