We all know the feeling of being somewhere we deep down know we don’t belong. For ALONE IN ROME, that place was school and work, and the fight to keep themselves going when times were toughest. The band name reflects a feeling of complete loneliness, a loneliness you could describe by imagining standing in the middle of Rome, surrounded by iconic buildings and streets, yet without a single person in sight. A surreal form of isolation.

Alone In Rome is a Danish/Dutch hard rock band inspired by stadium rock giants such as Alter Bridge, Mammoth WVH, Guns N’ Roses, and Dizzy Mizz Lizzy. Their debut single ‘Don’t Wait For Me’ (release September 26) is an energetic and uplifting rock anthem about taking the leap and breaking free. The lyrics are a wake-up call. The band lives the words they sing, here and now and in the music, they already feel the future they are chasing. The song was created through one and a half years of online collaboration across country borders, recorded at Medley Studios, self-produced by the band, and mixed by Mikkel Lyneborg. The result is a stadium-ready, international sound with hooks that stick after the very first chorus. The band will celebrate the release in Odense on September 27 at the legendary Posten.

This what the band says about how it all started and how the single came to life.

It began with a Facebook post. Mikkel was looking for a drummer for a school project, and Tobias, who had just gotten his first car, was ready to drive from the outskirts of Vejle all the way to Odense to rehearse and write music. That kind of dedication set the tone. Later, Mikkel discovered Jorg in a Slash fan group and was instantly drawn to his playing style. It clicked immediately. Jorg’s sound matched Mikkel’s taste and guitar work perfectly. They connected, talked, and agreed: Jorg had to join Alone In Rome.

With Jorg living in the Netherlands and the rest of the band in Denmark, the writing process is anything but traditional. ‘Don’t Wait For Me’ was written online, with tracks bouncing between Copenhagen and Almere. Once the song was ready, Jorg flew to Copenhagen to record with the rest of the band at Medley Studios, with Mikkel producing and mixing. For the vocal duties the band teamed up with Michael Catton, lead singer for the Danish band Tainted Lady. The track reached the ears of Chris Baseford (Nickelback, Daughtry, Halestorm), who praised both the songwriting and overall sound. Chris Baseford’s mixing style has been a big influence on Mikkel Lyneborg.

Live: No Bullshit, Just Rock.

When Alone In Rome hits the stage, it’s all about power, smiles, and honesty. Rehearsals happen right before shows. Jorg flies or drives to Denmark, they rent a rehearsal space for six hours, lock in the set, and play the gig the next day. It’s high pressure, but it works. They don’t care about a perfect-looking show. They care about connection. If the band and the audience meet eye-to-eye and share the music, that’s a successful concert. The dream is simple: to make a living out of playing their music around the world. It’s a cliché, but there’s a reason for that. Because it’s the coolest damn thing in the world. If they can do it, they will. And if they can bring their generation along for the ride and build a little family on tour, they’ve hit the top. Alone In Rome loves their music. They love playing it live. They love hanging out together. And they love sharing life with each other.

It shows in their first single which is an instant smash hit! Listen to ‘Don’t Wait For Me’ here at arrowlordsofmetal for the first time.
