Angelic Upstarts – This Means War – Midnight Tattoo

Over the last years it’s been harder and harder to find those classic UK punk bands that still live up to their reputation. We’ve been blessed to have bands such as UK Subs, GBH, Discharge over in Aalst, and we couldn’t be happier to present you another one, the mighty Angelic Upstarts. Formed in the sacred punk year ’77 in South Shields, North-East England this working class punk band, that was influenced by the likes The Clash, Sex Pistols,… was never shy to provoke reaction, mostly due to singer Mensi’s lyrics making much of his working class roots, and lashing out at police and politicians. Although punk, the high level of singalongs and lyrical style made the band equally popular in Oi crowds, while having strong anti-fascist views and beliefs. Surviving splits and reforms this is just one of those classic bands you want to see. It’s punk history alive and kicking.
