DESCRIPTION:Een imposant figuur met een geschoren hoofd en getatoeëerde armen, – dat is Popa Chubby. Zijn muziek omschrijft hij  als “the Stooges meets Buddy Guy, Motörhead meets Muddy Waters, and Jimi Hendrix meets Robert Johnson. ”



Popa Chubby, geboren Ted Horowitz, is al meer dan 25 jaar hard aan het rocken op zijn felle en soulvolle manier. In de loop van een carrière die teruggaat tot 1994,  en zijn stormachtige, soulvolle gitaarspel is nog nooit zo krachtig geweest.
Hij groeide op in de punk scene van New York. Hij werd groot met de muziek van Hendrix, Cream en Led Zeppelin. Toen hij zelf begon met spelen kwam hij er snel achter dat de boodschap van de blues net zo krachtig was als die van de punk.
Popa Chubby is zijn eigen man, in voor- en tegenspoed. Hij reflecteert: “I’m living in a wild time, and that is where the inspiration is drawn from. There are my issues, but the picture is much bigger than me and my situation. Everything is breaking down in the world. The lines are being redefined. We all need something.”
